A simple name, a name that spoke who she was and what she was. That was ‘The Woman in Red’, there had been a few names she would of preferred and some of these she had thrown out herself. But she had the name that had been given first and she knew the person who labeled her with it to make it worse. A patrol officer who could barely tie his laces together, let alone fire a gun and he was the one to say the name to the press.
A cold Atlantic breeze swept across the docks, it had been cold for the last few nights and getting colder as the night rolled on. Some held the belief it was only a matter time till it started to snow and as the temperature dropped it was looking more likely by the hour. Peggy was located in a small corner of the docks which had long since been inactive at night and if they were it was been used by the mob or low life criminals. Since the uprise in crime, fishing boats had moved away from these parts and further down the coast to safer grounds. But the weather and the fishing boats were the least of worries for Peggy The Woman in Red. She had a bigger problem to deal with, his name was Antonio Del Maze and a serum he was concocting. He had already hit three labs and injured eight fellow police officers. One was critical and unlikely to be alive by morning.
The Woman in Red scouted the docks as Peggy for an hour before deciding to make her move, she had followed Antonio Del Maze to this warehouse overlooking the coast. There were two points of entry, the main door and a skylight. With a clean jump and swing on a rope she climbed her way to the roof. The windows were black out and hiding any secrets inside. But she held no doubt this place was the building where they were trying to formulate a serum to enhance humans. Standing next to the window she could hear the sound of voices and clanging of glass from the other side. Surprise would be her advantage or so she hoped. Plan was to take out the guards and have Antonio Del Maze squeal like a pig. As she opened the window she stepped onto hanging scaffolding that was joined with three other in the center of the warehouse. As she stood there she was welcomed by a pitch black warehouse, the only light within the warehouse was a small lamp on a table in the center of the room and beside it was a gramophone playing out the noises she had heard. Slowly she approached the center of the of the warehouse on the scaffolding with one gun drawn. Her instincts were telling her to run and get out. But like all cats her curiosity was telling her something else. Standing high above the table an A4 page lay on the table with two words in big writing.
‘ Bang Bang, ‘
The lights to the warehouse suddenly light up and from the four corners on the ground came ten men altogether holding Tommy guns. Four more men made their way from the opposite end on the scaffolding she had entered. A familiar sound of laughter echoed through the walls as danger approach from all angles.
” Miss Red or should I say Woman in Red as the papers would say,” in a white suit from the dark came Antonio Del Maze with a big smile upon his face,” There's no serum my dear, never was,”
” Then why all this charade,” The woman in Red shouted as she stood there overlooking Del Maze.
” For you my dear,” once again his laugh echoed through the building before a firm and furious voice appeared,” Like a rabbi dog, it's now time to put you down,”
With them words the warehouse erupted up in a hail of gunfire. Staying focused on the men on the scaffolding, with four clean shots The Woman in Red proved why she was still alive and a thorn in his side. Two fell to their deaths on to the concrete floor as the others fell to an injured limb. As a hail of gunfire passed around her, she didn't wait a second more as she dashed at full speed back out the way she came and back down to the ground with a swing on a rope. Once reaching the ground she made a dash as quickly as she could back down the docks while narrowly missing another round of gunfire. Halfway down the docks she stopped in her track and turned around. In a power point stance she let off two shots and reloaded as she continued her dash to safety.

for some young girls, disobeying their Father meant sneaking out to kiss a boy their Father didn't think much of. Or stealing a bottle of his beer when he has fallen asleep. Or smoking one of her mothers cigarettes. For Laura it was killing people even if her Father insisted it was too much of a risk of setting off weeks of bloody gang warfare when it wasn't called for, or when Arties' gang was not in a position to gain anything of it.
a few nights ago, a young woman had come to Laura's bar, drinking with the kind of intensity that only came when there was no other idea on how to try and cope. Laura was the kind of bar tender that was willing to pretend to be interested in her customers problems. One sob story about the womans brother getting shot for not being able to pay up to a shake down later and Laura had been requesting to go kill a few of Del Maze's men. Artie had pointed out (quite correctly) there was nothing to gain from antagonising them when the cops would be on the case after the ACTUAL killers if it upset her so much.
To her credit, Laura was smart enough to know it was not a good idea for a crime lords daughter to be spotted attacking other criminal empires. a custom black trenchcoat with blood red trim her Father had given her for her birthday, a bright yellow bit of cloth as a bandana around her lower face and a pair of bulky flight goggles covering the rest of her face made her look enough not like herself that she could do whatever she wanted without being traced. plus if she kept to only a shotgun and did not pop her claws. The claws were rather famous in the underworld at this point. which was a point of pride for Laura but still.
so imagine her surprise when she arrived to see people already dead, gunshots filling the night, and a woman fleeing after clearly having tried and failed to take on more then she could handle. Laura was crouched on a rooftop, trying to case the warehouse when she watched the figure running away, firing as she went (smart). Her interest caught, Laura followed after her silently, jumping between gaps from one warehouse to another as she followed after this woman.
It occurred to her that newspapers had reported a "Woman in red" attacking criminals across the city, similar to that Rorschach lunatic causing problems wherever he went. This all seemed to make more sense now, and Laura figured the enemy of her enemy was worth at least offering a truce too. she kept pace with the woman until she realised one of the goons had broken off from the rest of his friends and was closing in, and rather then let things take their own way (this lady seemed perfectly capable of defending herself, but why take the risk? especially when it seemed like it would be helpful to gain the womans trust?) Laura waited until the Lady was aware of her pursuer before leaping off the rooftop.
The thug got off a short yell of shock before Laura's knees hit his face and shoulder, sending both him and Laura sprawling. Laura rolled with the momentum of it, ignoring the spiking pain in her legs and letting her healing factor take care of whatever damage she'd caused herself, she got up seconds before the rather heavy set man. just enough time to raise her shotgun to line up with his stomach and fire once. The bang was deafening and masked the wet thump of his body rag dolling right back down to the ground in a spray of blood and gore. but Laura was already cracking the double barrelled weapon open and sliding a fresh cartridge in to the now empty slot as she turned towards the Woman in Red.
"I would be right in assuming you are also no friend of the men coming this way?" she asked rhetorically. "i offer my continued help, if you wish for it."

The Woman in Red couldn't contemplate which was worse, been so close to Del Maze without arresting him or walking into one of his traps. He had given her what she wanted, robbed a serum still in experimental stages and the equipment to make more. Than hired some bruno's with evidence leading the belief they would be laboratory pin cushion and she just couldn't believe she had got it do wrong. He had the serum, that was a fact and that was the only fact she had got right. The rest was staged to trap her and now she could only guess the men he hired were located at the exits to the dock. He wasn't one for loose ends and she could only guess he was one step ahead of her for once.
Where the two men had came from she had no idea, all she knew was that the stranger had arrived just in time. A second later she would of been in the obituaries or worse. But she be damned if she'd say that to the stranger,
” I got this, can't ya tell,” she said in a sarcastic New York accent,” As they say, It ain't no date, unless someone loses a head.”
As two more of Del Maze’s man came the Woman in Red let off two shots straight to the guts and then she ducked down around a corner of one of the warehouses. Then peaking back around the corner she let off a few shots to send them for cover. Taking out her second hand gun and she double checked it was ready for action. Looking towards the stranger she tried to figure out how this woman worked and also understand her angle in this mess. If she could, but she needed her and she wasn't about to look a gift horse in the mouth.
” Gut tells me, we ain here for the same reason,” as The woman in Red clicked back the safety on the two guns, she looked her straight into her eyes or tried,” Del Maze's crafted this trap for me and it worked. So you been here is a wrench in his works, plus I gather by now he stationed his new brunos with some heavy heat to block are escape. So sweetie your foot's stuck now, so like it or lump it, are best chance is to go for head and by the way it's Red.”
With that the Woman in Red stood to her feet and took a peak around the corner before letting off a few rounds. In the distance a truck could be heard coming to a hard stop and Red could only gather it wasn't a good sign.

Sarcasm was good. It meant the Woman was not loosing her head or panicking, which Laura hadn't thought she was, the way she had continued to act sensibly while in danger, but you could never really know where someones breaking point was until they reached it.
"i have never heard anyone say that." Laura said simply, sounding as calm as if she were making conversation in a corner shop rather then involved in a life and death battle. She did not so much as flinch when the Woman gunned down another two foes, in fact she did not even turn around to see them approach, simply moving behind the same corner to take cover when she had smelled them coming. "it does not sound romantic." was the only real opinion she held on the idea, not that she would mind so much. A date where her and someone she was interested in went out to do this sounded just fine to Laura. Perhaps that was odd. she did not know.
At what could be interpreted as a question to Laura's motives, she tilted her head to let herself pay more attention to what was coming and shrugged. "I heard a sad story where these thugs hurt someone that had done nothing wrong." Was about the best she could honestly offer. it sounded insane to Laura's own ears so she tried to explain herself better just for how The Woman in Red would see her. "I do not like bullies that pick on the innocent." The idea Laura was stuck in any kind of problem was novel to her, it had been a very long time since she'd been up against bad odds, the joys of her Father not wanting to put her in to much danger.
This would be interesting. "neither of us came here to flee at the first sign of trouble. I am here to win. Same as you." she paused and considered the name Red in her mind. Laura hadn't bothered to think up a false name, thinking she wouldn't start talking to anyone so there wouldn't be a point. "it is nice to meet you Red. I do not have a name yet. My appologies."
Laura heard the Truck pulling up, and the heart beats of men inside. That could be an issue. "Along the top. People tend not to look up if we stay quiet." She suggested, bracing herself and cupping her hands so she could offer to boost Red a lift up onto the top of the container. Her shotgun was tucked under an arm for this, the barrel facing away from both of them because Laura was not going to let an accident be their downfall here.

Red slid the guns away for a second and took the offer and jumped onto the roof with the help of the stranger. As she got onto the roof she realised the stranger may have a point, running around on the ground would only attract more attention and the roof gave her the vantage point. Once on the roof Red lay back flat onto the roof to be out of view from those below on the ground.
" You have a point,"Red whispered," let's give them a second to calm down before we make are move,"
Every word the woman spoke Red took in, it was key in gathering a profile of anyone and understanding them. Facts to this woman didn't add up, as of yet she wasn't sure if she was lying to protect herself or so out there that she believed she was telling the truth.
" If you don't want to tell your name that's fine," but Red couldn't go around calling her stranger," We all have people to protect, so I'm calling you Nancy and Nancy you ain coming across as the full basket apple to be honest and I'm guessing you ain from around here. "
Red didn't mean to sound insulting, just speaking her mind. As the sound of feet and voices rushed around below Reds feet she turned her head to the side to look at the Woman she dubbed as Nancy.
" There not the first," it was the harsh truth and Red knew the reason why all too well," If they had of killed your friend, well then they can't collect money off a dead person now can they and more than likely their bulling was a way of show of strength to keep other people in line. Battered and bruised is a good way of keeping people in line with out killing and having too much heat on us. "
Red set up and took out her two handguns again, with a lean forward she peeked over the edge to see how many men were below. As the men ran off she turned her attention back to the lady,
" You see I believe in fate," standing up she looked the roof up and down," and I believe MS Fate said to you, Nancy this girl Red really messed things up this time and Low and behold then came the cavalry. So cavalry Nancy my gut is telling me to let you take the lead. Am I right, cause I'm guessing guessing you aim one for talking thing out?"

As soon as Red was up onto the rooftops, Laura slid the shotgun into a large pocket on the inside of her coat and followed after her. She needed a small running start to jump on her own, and only just caught the edge of the roof but was able to drag herself up smoothly after that. She joined Red in staying prone and tried to take everything in. Things could be worse.... could be a lot better. but still.
"Good. Reclaim the initiative if possible. Dismantle their usual plans if not. Disruptive." she assessed with a short nod. This was a game of strategy, whoever made the right moves won and everyone else got shot. Something Laura aimed to avoid if possible, but it would be better then Red getting shot. The never ending fun of trying to keep humans alive no matter how vulnerable they tended to be. "anyone that seems to be giving orders are the priority. the rank and file are replaceable cannon fodder. Anyone Del Maze relies upon may slow him down. better then nothing."
At the bit about her name, Laura tilted her head in confusion. "Is your real name Red?" she hadn't thought of that as likely but really since anything was possible it would be a mix of stupidity and genius to throw people off by pretending it was a codename. Nancy was an.... odd choice. but Laura had put herself in such a position and had no reason to complain. "Nancy will do. My sanity is not imperitive here, only my ability to hold my own and be useful to your cause."
For the most part, Laura did not mind being accused of insanity. she was well aware she thought differently to everyone around her but treated it as more of an advantage then a disorder. Harder to predict was harder to defeat after all. "they were not my friend. I do not remember the persons name." Laura listened to Red contemplate motives and had to admit she was impressed. it was well thought through and almost certainly correct. "Agreed. It is the only logical reason. Logical but unforgivable."
it was rare to make Laura smile, and even rarer still to make her laugh. but a few quite chuckles escaped her at the easy going way Red explained the situation. "I am a Mutant." Laura offered as she pulled herself up to a crouching position at the very edge of the rooftop. One of the men was walking slowly down the way towards them, being quite diligent in checking from left to right and behind him often enough to prevent people sneaking up on, or past, him. Competent. but not looking up. "If I am shot, do not break stride. do not attend to me. I will be fine."
Laura had experienced every kind of reaction to the M word going, and didn't have time to care if it made this woman dislike her, even though she doubted it. Red seemed better then that. the idea of talking things over made Laura hesitate. Truth be told, there would be nothing she would like more then to be able to convince those men down there to go home and never harm another soul again. but she was in the real world and knew better then to waste her breath.
"there are those for whom words can not reach." Laura replied, meeting Reds eyes through the goggles Laura wore that tainted the world a slightly darker shade. "There is no sin in stopping people like that from doing worse to others." With that, Laura leapt from the roof, letting gravity take her and the wind sweep past her as she plummeted downwards.
The thugs first sign something was amiss was the moment two heavy boots made contact with the back of his neck, sending him sprawling to the ground. Laura snatched the pistol he had been carrying and span it in her grip to strike the back of his head with the butt of the weapon. After the third powerful hit, Laura was certain he was dead. The first one probably did it, but she wanted to be certain and a gunshot would have everyone running far faster then she'd of liked.
Laura took the time to wipe the blood and fleck of skull from the gun using the dead mans shirt and tucked it away in her pocket in case it was useful later. Or if it turned out Red's weapons used the same calibre rounds then she would hand it over to her. Speaking of, Laura glanced around to see where her new ally had gotten to.

Red stood back for a second to contemplate what X-23 said, she was half tempted to grill her and see how she saw the world. But at the last moment she let it go and instead decided to let her in on the way things were done in her world. " Welcome to New York sweetie, hope you enjoy your stay." she said in a casual sarcastic tone, " Your a bull, ready to run right in," She approached the now dead body as the sound of feet could be heard in the distance and voices with then syncing there search. " You killed this man because you could, I kill when I have no option." Red ran her fingers over the dead man's eyes and closed them. One thing she did was, respect the dead and with that she faced X-23 " If you kill a body it will leave evidence to your location, keep killing and it will lead a trail of bread crumbs to your location. Now tell me, what do you do with a bull that's out of control, Stealth is are weapon. These people use fear to keep people in line, so why not use that weapon on them. That's why we must keep some alive, plus..."Red stood up and began to walk down along the warehouse. With one gun she hoped it would be an easy access to Del Maze. " Think,"Red said as she pointed her own finger to her own head, " Let's say we fail to catch Del Maze and we escape. Who will he place the blame on ? Will he punish those who he blames ? How will his respect be after these punishments ? Trick is to think long term and to use his pawns against him and ...."With them words Red noticed a white car entering the grounds at a high speed and she could only guess it was going to pick up Del Maze for him to make his escape. Red made a dash out from the corner of the warehouse hoping to take a shot, but she was a second out and too late. But hope was not gone as she noticed a wine muscle car parked within reach and with it two men were getting ready to enter it. And then there is times like these, " with that Red shot two bullets hitting them both in the shoulder, the men dropped to the ground in pain and out of action. This was if anything a point to X-23 that she didn't need to kill all the time. To be honest Red would of killed them if not making a point and she didn't want to come across as a red blood killer. Walking casually her shoes clicked of the ground as she walked to the driver seat. As she passed over the driver she picked up the keys and his Tommy gun. " Don't get up boys," then as if taking to a child she cared about Red said "coming my sweetie, it's time we made an entrance, we need to move now." With white wine seats to match the rest of the car, Red was in love and was damned if she was given this up. Seating in to the seat she fixed her skirt and then turned the engine to release the roar of the engine. <Tag X-23 >

Antonio del Maze. Sooner or later that putrid gunsel would turn up in Manhattan and the Cavalier would take him down. Months ago his men executed Rocky, Rance's employee and adventurous sidekick, in a trap meant for the Cavalier. And now it seems he's trying for the Woman In Red.
The portrait of the Duc de Chantreigh had changed its face to a grim, teeth-baring anger. Rance's ancestor wanted revenge, and so did he. The rapier seemed to whisper directions to Rance. Rocky's killers were among del Maze's men.
In "ghost form" the Cavalier observed Red engage the gathered gangsters as she sprang their trap, and she was joined by another woman with spring-loaded knives attached to her gloves and boots, and the two made short work of them.
But, del Maze was escaping by car, and Red intended to follow, acquiring her own car from escaping gangsters. From the astral there was no way Rance could ride along with them, as he hadn't quite mastered not being thrown by inertia and phasing out of a moving vehicle.
So, the Cavalier materialized in front of Red's car as she started it, his red and yellow swashbuckler's costume illuminated brightly in the headlights. With a wink from beneath his domino mask, the Cavalier extended his thumb like a hitchhiker, and exaggeratingly drew up a pants leg to reveal an ankle and calf.
"Art thou goin' my way, dear lady? I am on a quest to break Antonio del Maze's jaw."

Red waved her hands at the Caviller, she was unsure if he had known that she had half expected him to of showing up earlier and help. Red was not one who asked for help, she didn't like the idea of putting others in to danger or to be seen as the one to blame. On this occasion on the last time she met him, she had left clues to were to meet her and the possible danger she faced.
" YOUR LATE," Red screamed," Just get in and get ready for the final act,"
It had been a good while now since knowing the Caviller, it had been another of these moments when Red had bitten off more than she could chew. She had been so determined to make a shot at a driver approaching her that she never brought in to terms she was about to get hit by the same car and that was when the Caviller. He was among the few to know her identity.
" You were right Caviller" Red said as she put the car in to gear," It was trap set for me,
With a turn of the key, the car came alive and a health roar came from the engine
" My apologies," Red said as she directed her hand towards X-23," This is Nancy, she saved me from a Chicago Suit,"
With out think Red brought the car to sixty with in seconds and than faster as she tried to gain speed to catch up to the other car before her friend decided to escape.

"Pleasure to meet you, Nancy. I suppose the press hasn't given you a clever moniker yet. Perhaps, 'Gutwrencher?' How about 'Stab Girl?'"
Turning his attention to Red, the Cavalier said, "Late? I've been here all along. I followed in right behind Stab Girl. Oh, you didn't see. Couldn't see. New power from my ancestor, after Rocky was killed."
Rance was still getting used to the "ghost form," transforming into an astral entity and walking among the living undetected. Save for being unable to touch anything, it was just like being there in the flesh. Popping out of nowhere in the middle of a mobster's meeting gave the Cavalier a thrill, even as it caused heart attacks and lots of pants wetting. But in the astral or not, there was no way the Cavalier was going to catch Del Maze's car on horseback.
The Cavalier jingled the spurs on his boots. "Spirit's a fast horse, but even running through walls I don't think she could keep up with Del Maze's car. But, the sword knows where he is. It longs to pierce his heart."
The Cavalier patted the hilt of his sword, and seemed to speak to it. "Yes, yes. Behead him too. What is it with you lately? Behead, behead, behead. Can't we ever just chop arms and legs off? Now hush, I'm trying to talk to Red and Stab Girl."

Indignant frustration bubbled in the back of Laura's mind at the way Red talked to her. "I killed him to-" she began, planning to explain in detail that this man was not going to be anything but a threat alive. to them. to others. to the city as a whole. She planned to point out that she valued the removal of such a threat as being worth increasing the risk to themselves. They were here because they accepted the risk of drawing heat away from the civilians and innocents of New York so that was what she was doing. But instead of sayng any of that, Laura instead just said "I do not have to justify myself to you."
She accepted the logic behind weakening his operation through failure. But Laura still felt like a goon taken away from him forever was far more likely to be damaging then, punishment. later. maybe. Laura followed after Red, keeping her eyes open and certain she was in the right.
When the car accelerated around a corner and out of site Laura swore under her breath and almost went to take out whoever was left, just so that they had could do whatever damage they could tonight and focus him down another night. But she was surprised into stopping at the curious things Red did. Clearly she was planning to leave them alive, but she could not for the life of her understand what the advantage to that was. She wasn't trying to question them. she wasn't restraining them for the police. It certainly wasn't her having simply missed her shots...
Laura did not understand. But she recognised the need to get in the car and hurried towards the passengers door when a strange man in stranger clothes (although she herself was no one to talk right now) appeared and seemed to be a friend of reds, a capable fighter and slightly insane. The first two things were useful enough she would ignore the third for now and nodded in his direction "It is nice to meet you." she said simply, before getting into the back seat instead, leaving those two to decide who was driving. "Is that sword magic?" she asked as an afterthought. she was well aware magic really did exist after seeing Barbara transform so perhaps she was becoming more open minded to the idea people might be telling the truth when they heard voices.
She was still going to keep an eye on him though. better safe then sorry.

"It won't hurt a thing to tell her about you,"the Cavalier said softly to his sword. "So what if she's immortal? She's got a neon bright soul. Definitely not a . Whilst thou let me speak? Aw c'mon. Yes I knoweth 'tis thy tongue but this is the 20th Century. Thou art making us sound like Shakespeare. Yes I know he was your pal. May I speaketh? SPEAK! Thank you."
The transformations into the Cavalier were becoming more syncretic each time Rance took the form of his long dead ancestor. Ever since Rocky was killed, the soul of the Duc de Chantreigh was becoming more assertive. Rance feared his ancestor might one day forever displace him. For now, the two needed each other.
Rance decided the best way to demonstrate an answer to the girl's question was to push out his ancestor's soul, and when he did, the foppish costume and plumed hat and sword disappeared, leaving only a shorter, well dressed man sitting in the car with the two heroines. A man that didn't look like the Cavalier at all.
"Well, sometimes the sword is magical. Most of the time it's just an antique cavalryman's rapier that belonged to my ancestor, who is still here, I guess. I'm still trying to figure it out."
At that, Rance transformed back into the Cavalier.
"Stay alert, my dear ladies. The accursed Del Maze's brigands are provisioning their arquebuses...er, setting up snipers.Dang it will you let me speak for you?" the Cavalier spoke in alternating Elizabethan and New York accents as he bickered with his sword.

Red increased speed at a fast rate and did her best to catch up to the car. As the car finally came with in sight it stopped and out from a door Del Maze escaped. This only made Red go faster as she aimed the car and as if on a Sunday drive Red spoke calmly,
" The problem is you would kill a wolf instead of letting it lead you to more, "
As Red aimed the car at driver as he stepped out of the car he jumped at the last moment out of the way. The response was a hail of gunfire from all directions. As the bullets rat-a-tat-tat against the car, it took the damage and brought a smile to Reds face. As Red passed Del Mazes car she completed a 180 turn and sped back and completed a skid stopping in front of the car.
" I want him alive, I want his contacts and the D.A has a strong case against. Do no killing him."
Reds door been nearest to the Del Mazes car gave her cover as she came out with guns blazing. The driver fall hard to the ground as a bullet hit his gut as another grunt jumped for cover as her second gun aimed for him. But Del Maze escaped through a passage as Red got caught up in the gunfight at hand.

"Remember, snipers" the Cavalier noted as he stepped out of the car, bullets whizzing around him. And then he drew his sword, and headed towards the building. As he disappeared into ghost form, he argued with his sword.
"No, I don't suppose he'll need his arms and legs to stand trial..."

The mans explanations for his sword did not help reassure Laura he was correct in his thoughts, beyond the fact he called her immortal giving her pause. That wasn't something he could possibly know. Hell Laura did not think she was immortal even though it was hard to call returning to life anything else. It was confusing and something she didn't want to try and grasp the implications of right now, and perhaps not ever. "i am indeed not a . I promise." Laura said slowly, not knowing how else to talk to him.......and maybe his sword. because she was taking him seriously for some reason so why stop now. "as long as you are in control I do not suppose knowing everything matters." She concluded, not sure what else to do other then hope for the best. Red at least, made perfect sense to Laura, and everything she said was sensible and worth following. "he will live." Laura agreed, slipping out of the car and keeping low to stay out of sniper headlines. it was not possible to be invisible to every angle especially when she didn't know where the snipers lay in wait right now. With the Cavalier going after the main target, and Red focusing on the men in the car, lowering in number though they might be, Laura decided to indeed remember the snipers and make sure they were taken out of the picture. there was no point dragging Del Maze out in chains if they all got shot in the head as soon as they came out the front door. "i will return." She told Red before sprinting as fast as she could away from the car, ignoring the gunshots that wizzed by her head as acceptable risks. Even when one buried itself through her bicep and exited out the other side she grit her teeth, clutched the wound and kept going. there would be a fire escape somewhere close by, and from there a way to take out the gun men.
