What's hidden behind the mask:
Personality: Most people would think that a strong woman like Titania would be a lumbering brute, with all of her brain cells going towards muscle production, but, she is actually an intelligent woman, not a genius in the fields of science, but she is smart. She is also a stubborn, headstrong woman, some could even describe her as bullheaded. Titania has a determination that had been inside her since an early age, but hadn’t truly manifested since Doom’s experimentations. Arrogant, confident, and even just the slightest bit vain, she believes that she is the best of Doom’s creations and she is determined to always be the best at whatever she is assigned to do. While she considers most of the other experiments to be brothers and sisters of a sort, she does hold contempt for Arachne. She sees her as a failure and while she does not understand Doom’s obsession with getting her back, she also knows better than to question his will.
She is fiercely loyal to Doom, owing both her life and her current appearance to him. While she will offer consul when it is thought needed, she knows better than to question his will. The last thing she wants is to anger him enough that he would take away her gift. She doesn’t want to go back to being what she was before meeting Doom. She grew up always wanting to be something, to be someone, to be a part of the so called in-crowd, and now she is. She is at the top of the in-crowd and she will do anything she can do stay there. However, due to her stubbornness, determination, and desire to be the best, Titania is prone to fits of rage when she becomes frustrated. That is one of the few failures she has and is loathe to admit her mistakes, but will do so if she knows Doom is the tiniest bit angered by her actions.
History: Mary MacPherran was born prematurely in the city of Denver, Colorado. Mary was often overlooked as the smallest of her siblings and was picked on mercilessly by her brothers. She grew little over the years, remaining short and scrawny compared to her peers; a popular girl at school named Vanessa Ashwood gave Mary the nickname "Skeeter", slang for mosquito, because of this. Consistently mocked and humiliated since childhood by the wealthy Vanessa and her social clique, Mary had to take menial jobs to survive.
In an effort to get away from the constant torment that lasted even into her adult years, Mary decided it would be best to leave the country entirely and go overseas in order to help with the effort to help rebuild the recently war-torn countries of Europe. She wasn't exactly an army qualified nurse, but it seemed that the Allies were always looking for any civilian help when they could get it. Besides, if something should happen to her while over there, it's not like her family would actually miss her or anything. Unfortunately, as Murphy's Law is wont to do, something did go wrong.
While in Latveria, the relief group that Mary was a part of were traveling through a mostly destroyed town when their vehicle struck a landmine that was missed in an initial sweep of the area. She, along with the rest of the survivors were taken to the local hospital where her broken, bloodied body was bandaged and given a bed to rest in, the doctors essentially waiting to see who would survive over the course of the next few days, or at least that's what it seemed from Mary's point of view.
She did not recognize the armored man in green when he approached her bedside, having only heard some things about the extravagant ruler of Latveria, but when he laid his hand upon her shoulder, Mary felt a warm pulse course through her body, allowing her to breathe easier and more freely, though she was not entirely healed. He was looking for recruits for a project of his; people willing and suitable enough to suit his needs. Mary didn't remember what she said, but it must have made an impression on the masked ruler, since the next thing she knew, she was healed enough to be moved to his castle in Doomstadt, where the experiments began.
Over the course of the following weeks, Mary was kept sedated as she was subjected to augmentation after augmentation, until she woke up in a body that was not her own. Standing a good foot and a half taller, and built, to use a phrase one of her brother's was fond of, like a brick shithouse, Mary was understandably stunned, as well as overjoyed. Gone was the scrawny thing that was called Skeeter. Gone was even Mary MacPherran, as she refused to go by anything other than the given to her by Doom: Titania. It was also discovered, shortly thereafter, that she had enhanced strength and stamina, and was practically impervious to harm. Given this new lease on life, she swore fealty to the man who saved her and, being such a surprising success, Titania was given the rank of General in Doom's army in order to ensure his plans for expansion goes unhindered.
