-Super Strength: While empowered by the yellow sun, Clark is granted herculean levels of strength allowing him to lift up to 10 megatons and can leap up to 1/8th of a mile in a single bound.
-Invulnerability: Thanks to a combination of his dense molecular structure and his bio-electrical aura acting as a force field, Clark is impervious to most forms of harm and he can even survive in the vacuum of space. The only man made weapon capable of harming him however is an atomic bomb which would put him in a near death state. His bio-electrical aura also surrounds whatever object he is carrying keeping their structural integrity intact and it protects clothing that is close to his skin preventing his superhero suit from getting damaged or dirty.
-Super Speed: Clark is able to move, think and react at superhuman speeds with his top speed reaching up to 7,000 mph.
-Flight: Clark is able to defy gravity and fly.
-Super Hearing: Clark can hear any sound within a 100 mile radius.
-Telescopic Vision: Clark can see objects clearly from a distance up to 100 miles.
-Microscopic Vision: Clark can see objects so small that the human eye can't see them.
-X-Ray Vision: Clark can see through objects.
-Heat Vision: Clark can fire red beams of intense heat from their eyes which can reach temperatures as high as 2,480 degrees Celsius.
-Longevity: Clark's aging will slow to a standstill once he reaches his physical prime granting him an indefinite lifespan.
-Self-Sustenance: With his body getting the energy it needs from solar radiation, Clark does not need to eat or drink to survive. But he still needs air like all creatures with a circulatory system.
Healing Factor: In the rare instance Clark is damaged, his body will heal itself almost instantaneously using his solar reserves as a source. This ability also makes him immune to all diseases and toxins.
-Super Breath: Clark can blow hurricane force winds from his mouth and can chill his breath to freeze his targets. He can also inhale a large amount of gas and can hold his breath up to 3 hours with this ability.
Abilities:
-Indomitable Will: Clark has an enormous amount of willpower allowing him to resist temptation and to never give up when things are looking bad.
-Brawler: While Clark has no martial training to rely on, he is a very talented brawler that heavily relies on his powers. Though it should be noted that even without his powers, he does have one hell of a right hook.
-Above Average Intelligence: While no genius, Clark is smarter than the average human due to his kryptonian heritage.
-Investigation: Clark knows how to gather evidence and draw conclusions from what he has gathered.
Weapons:
Flaws/Weaknesses:
-Kryptonite: When exposed to the radiation produced by the green rock from his home planet, Clark is weakened and is put through a great amount of pain. With enough exposure, it can kill him.
Lead: Clark can't see through lead.
Magic: The bio-electrical aura that acts as a force field for Clark can be disrupted by magic due to it's chaotic electromagnetic or extra dimensional signatures. Because of this, Clark can be harmed by magical attacks and while it can't outright destroy him, magic coming from divine or semi-divine sources can.
Red Solar Radiation: When exposed to red solar radiation, Clark's powers begin to wane until they are reduced to nothing.
What's hidden behind the mask:
Personality: (2-3 paragraphs.)
History:
Krypton was a world that is very similar to Earth, but was eons older than it and was one and a half times as large resulting in a higher gravitational pull. The dominant species of the planet was the kryptonians, a race that appeared nearly identical to humans but had a biology that was so highly advanced reproduction between the two species was impossible. Their society was a technologically advanced paradise that was hundreds of thousands of years more advanced as they were able to cure all disease, halt the aging and even had complete control of the weather. At one point, they were a space faring species that set up colonies on new worlds. Unfortunately, their xenophobic tendencies would place them into conflict with other races and Krypton's Science Council decided to cut off all ties with the colonies viewing them as too costly to maintain. Without the support from Krypton, these colonies died out with the exception of one, Daxam. On top of that, they forbid space travel which resulted in kryptonian society becoming very isolationist as they no longer involved themselves in galactic affairs.
When Krypton began to experience a series of violent earthquakes, Jor-L, Krypton's leading scientist looked into the problem and made a horrible discovery. Krypton was going to explode as a result of it's unstable uranium core which would wipe out the entire kryptonian species as a whole. Naturally, Jor-L made his discovery known to Krypton's Science Council and they rejected his finding believing that he was trying to create a state of mass panic to make a power move. To prevent a mass panic, they ordered Jor-L not to go public with this or else he will be imprisoned in the prison dimension he discovered, the Phantom Zone. After getting him, he told his wife, Lara about Krypton's impending doom and that he was going to create a rocket that would take them including their newborn baby, Kal-L to escape their destruction. Lara of course asked where he planned on taking the family and Jor told her that they would be living on a planet called Earth which orbited a yellow star that would make them invincible and had a species that looked identical enough to blend in with.
Unfortunately, Jor-L miscalculated when Krypton was going to explode and believed that he had a lot more time to create his ship than he actually did. When he realized this error, the planet only had moments left before it was going to explode and the only thing he had to show for his hard work is a prototype rocket. Since the rocket was just large enough to fit his infant son, Jor-L figured that the very least he could do was save his son from their planet's doom. Since Lara was with Kal trying to stop him from crying, he told his wife about the error he made and that they only had moments left to save their son. So the two placed their crying child into the rocket and watched as left the planet. Before Krypton went out with a bang, Jor shared a passionate kiss with his wife. After leaving the planet, the rocket's FTL drive kicked in and arrived in Earth's solar system in a matter of seconds. It would eventually make it's way to Earth where it crashed on the side of a road right outside Smallville, Kansas. John and Mary Kent, an elderly couple was driving on the road when they saw the ship crash into the ground and investigated upon hearing Kal's cries.
When they saw the baby alien, they took him out of the ship and managed to make it to their car right before it exploded. Having failed numerous times to have a child of their own, Mary wanted to take the boy home and raise him as their own, but John refused reasoning that they were too old to take care of a child. The two would then take Kal to an orphanage and left him in the care of the facility. On the way back home, John had a change of heart and drove back the the orphanage where they adopted the kryptonian baby. Using Mary's maiden name, they named the boy Clark Joseph Kent and they took the boy back to their farm. As the two raised him, Clark initially showed no signs of powers with the only odd thing about him being the fact that he didn't get sick. And like all children, started going to school where he became good friends with Pete Ross and Lana Lang with the later having feelings for him. When Clark was eight, he took a shortcut through another farm on his way back from school where he was trampled by the farm's prized bull.
John who witnessed the event from his truck rushed over to Clark expecting to see a bloody corps. But to his surprise, he wasn't injured at all. He would then take the boy back home on his truck and didn't tell his wife about what happened as he had no idea how to tell her. It wasn't before long that the secret was out when Clark lifted a truck to get the ball that rolled under it. Fearing that their child might be taken, they told Clark that he needed to hide his abilities as the world wasn't ready for him yet. To hide his abilities and to protect his friends, Clark stopped playing sports. This combined with the fact that he was smarter than his peers resulted in him getting singled out and bullied. This made Clark feel ostracized and different as he began to display other abilities. He knew that he was adopted and whenever he asked his father where he came from, his father would tell him that they found him in a wagon. John knew that his son was feeling different and believed that the truth would just make him feel even more different.
Growing up in the Great Depression, Clark grew to regard Franklin D. Roosevelt as his personal hero as his policies ended the Great Depression, ended the Dust Bowl and brought electricity to Smallville. And he would always listen to the president's fireside chats which gave hope to him and other Americans. Shortly after the second World War started, the world was introduced to the super soldier, Captain America. Seeing the hero's feats in the newsreels, Clark felt for the first time that he wasn't alone as there was someone else with abilities that no ordinary human possessed. He even considered joining the war effort where his abilities would be useful, but his parents quickly talked him out of it as they felt that the world still wasn't ready for Clark and that he was way too young to go to war. Especially John who knew first hand the horrors of war as a World War I veteran. When Captain America died in 1943, Clark took his death hard and felt as though he had lost a brother despite having never met the guy. A year later, Clark suffered another tragic loss as Mary suddenly passed away in her sleep.
As he grieved his mother's death, Lana comforted her best friend and the two became very close. It wasn't before long that the two started dating which people found to be weird as Clark was a nobody and Lana was a hot cheerleader that was expected to date the star football player. Clark initially kept his powers a secret from her as they dated, but he was forced to use them to rescue her from a tornado as they headed home from homecoming. This brought the two even closer and they even thinking of getting married after high school. But with graduation becoming closer and closer, Lana became dissatisfied with the fact that Clark wanted to remain in Smallville living a boring life as she wanted to leave Smallville and live an exciting life the city. Because of this, she dumped Clark shortly after graduation and moved out of Smallville. With high school over, Clark got a job at the town's local paper enjoying the fact that his powers didn't give him an unfair advantage in the profession.
And with his father becoming older, he of course used his powers to make his work on the farm a lot easier. Two years after Clark graduated high school, John experienced a major heart attack as the two were working on the farm. As he held his father in his hands, his father made Clark promise to use his powers as a great force for good. Following through on his promise to his father, Clark created the alter ego known as Superman who would fight for truth and justice. As Clark Kent, he would wear his father's glasses to help hide his identity and work as a reporter at a major city. That way he would be able to hear about the latest crimes and threats before anyone else and won't be questioned when he decided to go somewhere dangerous. It would also allow him to continue his duties as Superman by fighting injustice and exposing corruption through his writing.
Once he settled on the Superman idea, he would sell his family farm and move to Metropolis where he became a reporter at the Daily Planet where he became smitten with a fellow reporter by the name of Lois Lane. Unfortunately, she had little to no interest in Clark romntically viewing him as a rookie reporter and potential competition. Clark initially held off on his Superman activities as he didn't want anybody to draw a connection between his arrival in Metropolis and Superman's arrival. When Clark made his first appearance as Superman, he caught the world's attention with his amazing powers as he fought crime. It wasn't long before other super powered beings started popping out of the wood work with the first one he ever encountered being the Ultra-Humanite. Oddly enough, his greatest foe would be a man without powers by the name of Lex Luthor who despised the man of steel.
As for Lois, she was infatuated with his alter ego and while Clark knew that he could have her if he were to reveal his identity to her, he chooses not to. This is because of the fact that he wants her to like the real him instead of the creation he made to use his powers in public. Now Superman is Metropolis's protector and while Clark was initially worried that people would see through his disguise he quickly learned that people don't even believe that Superman has a secret identity. Even when he takes off his glasses, people would either say nothing or claim that he looks just like Superman.
