Powers: Typhoid Mary is a mutant and possesses a number of powers. The effectiveness of her powers differs on which personality is in control. "Innocent Mary" typically has no access to her powers. Typhoid and Bloody all access her telepathy, telekinesis, and pyrokinesis to varying degrees. Although Mary cannot access her powers, Typhoid has occasionally expressed their powers through Mary while Mary was in control, and without Mary realizing it.
Pyrokinesis: She has the power to ignite, extinguish, and control/manipulate fire.
Telekinesis: She can levitate small objects over short distances (such as weapons of under 10 pounds; knives, razors, etc.), making a knife spin in place or retrieving her weapons if they're dropped. Her "Bloody Mary" persona often gathered and assembled small metal objects into improvised battle-armor.
Telepathy: She can implant mental suggestions in the minds of others. She can induce sleep in weak-minded individuals and most animals, or create "sensory ghosts" as a distraction, causing people to look away because they think they saw a flash or heard a noise. Typhoid can compel people to take simple actions without thinking about it, like reaching for a blade or kissing her, letting her predict their next move or guide them into traps. She has the power to psionically seduce men, using a combination of behavioral psychology and telepathic prods to make them quickly become obsessed and fall in love with her.
Abilities: Mary has minimal combat skills, but quite artistically gifted. It was something she developed during her long periods in mental institutions.
Typhoid, on the other hand, has no artistic ability. She is, however, formidable in hand-to-hand combatant. Instead of her fighting style being a learned discipline, it is more of an improvised street fight/brawl style. If it keeps someone down, she’ll use it. However, she does have exceptional and unexplained skill in wielding, throwing, and telekinetically hurling bladed weapons.
Bloody is much like Typhoid, in that she is an expert in bladed weapons. Her fighting style is more rough and brutal, tending to use her powers more than her weapons.
Weapons: Edged weapons - knives, swords, shrapnel, razors, etc.
What's hidden behind the mask:
Personality: Due to childhood abuse, Mary developed dissociative identity disorder, giving her (at first) three distinct personalities: timid Mary, lustful Typhoid, and vicious Bloody Mary.
Mary is very timid person. She’s gentle, pleasant, helpful, and artistically gifted, but also fragile, emotionally dependent on others, and prone to, what she thinks are, seizures. In truth these are blackouts when her other personality takes over. Though she has frequently been confronted with evidence of her other persona, Mary tends to block out this information and generally remains unaware of its existence. She's the nice girl of the three. She would gladly befriend you, offer a shoulder to cry on, and even possibly give advice. A bit shy and reserved, with a polite and mild demeanor, she tends to express herself through her sketches and paintings, which she learned to do during her stays in various hospitals... which she prefers to not talk about.
As Typhoid, she is aggressive, opinionated, adventurous, lusty, manipulative, cocky, rebellious, seductive, playful, uncontrollable, violent, willfully malevolent, and even murderous. She is contrary to whatever it is you think she'll do. She is willing to use whatever it takes to get what she wants. You never know what mood she'll be in when you meet her, and then again, you never know what will set her off either. Typhoid is generally able to manipulate Mary to some extent, directing her behavior without her knowledge.
Bloody is, simply put, a crazy killing machine. Take blood and fire, darkness and sharp metal that slices things so easily. Mix those together with cries heard in the night and give it the most wicked grin a human could ever possess. That's Bloody Mary. Reasoning with her will do you little good, but she can be directed towards objectives, much like a bull that sees something waved in front of it. In life, things bleed and things burn, and Bloody sees her existence as a means for everything to reach that ultimate destination. She kills, mainly abusive or aggressive men, but she kills. That’s her purpose. She doesn’t talk much, perhaps a sentence fragment here or there, but nothing more.
History: Once upon a time, there lived a little girl named Mary. Mary was the nicest girl you ever met, all sugar and sweetness and light; the quintessential good girl. They only problem was that Mary didn't exactly have the best childhood. In fact, it could be considered the worst, actually. Her father was an abusive man, to both her and her mother. She started being a victim of his abuse while in utero, hearing him yelling at her mother. Of course, her mom was the lucky one, having died when Mary was very young. This left Mary no protection from her father in any way. Every night he would go to Mary's room and every night, she would curl up, both physically and mentally, wanted to hide away from the shadow in her doorway. One night, she curled up enough that something inside her young mind snapped, lashing out in fury and pain, screaming and clawing. After that night, no shadow crossed her doorway.
After many years of abuse from her father, Mary made a wish, wanting never, ever to be hurt by him again. That night, her wish came true. All she remembered was blacking out as he came towards her and then waking back up a while later, being helped into a police van, her night clothes bloody and a bit singed. But, her father was never heard from again. Of course this single action didn't mean Mary's troubles were over. After the incident with her father, she was briefly moved to foster care. Parents loved the sweet, innocent and cooperative Mary, but quickly had second thoughts when the persona eventually known as Typhoid would make appearances. This behavior finally lead to Mary being sent to a mental institution.
While there, Mary had every test known to science performed on her in order to evaluate and discern the cause of her violent outbursts. The results, however, continued to baffle experts. All signs pointed to Mary having no knowledge of her other persona, while the other personality, who could only be talked to while she was sedated, went on and on about the flawed little Mary. It was how she got her nickname, ‘Typhoid Mary’, being, as far she was concerned, healthy and completely unaware of how dangerous she was to other people.
When Mary turned eighteen, she was legally an adult and, due to the fact that she wasn't a constant danger to the public as well as lack of funding to maintain the current number of patients, the mental institution released her into the world. Mary sees this as a second chance, though she is not entirely sure what to do with her life. She wants to be a good girl, she doesn’t want people to get hurt or die from her incidents, and she’ll do whatever she can to stay on the outside and in the normal, sane world.
Other: When Mary's personality changes, her physiological traits (heart rate, respiratory pattern, scent, EKG, etc) also change. Daredevil was unable to recognize Mary and Typhoid as the same person despite his enhanced senses, and even sighted people often believe the personalities are different people.
