Powers:
Ten Tiger power- Rarely used due to the physical exhaustion Walker feels after using it. After reciting a mantra taught by a Bandar shaman 'By jungle law, the Ghost who Walks calls for the power of ten tigers', the Phantom can focus his stamina into performing a herculean feat of physical power. Examples have included leaping great heights from a standing start, sprinting to keep up with vehicles, tearing reinforced doors down or breaking free of binding chains.
Animal Empathy- The Phantom can commune with several animals to calm them from attacking or gaining their aid. He regularly works with his wolf Devil and horse Hero.
Abilities:
Reputation- As far as the world knows the Phantom has battled criminals for several centuries, so Kit can benefit from being seen as an invincible and immortal figure that strikes fear in evil doers.
Legacy training- The previous Phantoms have collected their knowledge in the Skull cave for the benefit of the next generation. Through study Kit combines skilled hand to hand combat with master marksmanship, knife and sword fighting.
Acrobat and Equestrian- Living in the jungle sometimes requires getting off the ground in a hurry. Kit can ride, jump, swing and climb like a jungle cat.
Impressive physique- The Phantom keeps to a strict regime keeping him at peak human physical condition at all times, rivalling many others who trained in less dangerous conditions or gained their strength artificially.
Survivalist and tracker- He knows what is safe to eat, where to make shelter and what animals can kill you in an instant. Like Tarzan or Black Panther the Phantom is an expert on the jungle and wilderness.
Contacts- Phantom is good friends with the Bandar and other tribes of Africa, the Jungle Patrol (a combined police/game warden organisation) and Lothar the Prince of Seven Nations.
Money- The Skull Cave is filled with treasures confiscated from pirates and criminals that can function as global currency. Precious metals and jewels of all kinds that would rarely be turned down as payment or a bribe.
Weapons:
Gun Belt- Strapped to his waist are two customised .45 handguns. The Phantom can handle them flawlessly in motion or stationary, blasting weapons out of his enemies hands or hitting a small target from a great distance. The belt and guns are a prize among criminals and stealing them can provide esteem among groups like the Singh Brotherhood (though with the 'Ghost Who Walks' reputation more superstitious criminals might balk at working with someone who steals the guns and attracts the attention of the Phantom)
Skull mark- The Skull ring on his right hand is tipped with a combination of plant extract that acts as a universal allergen. When hit with the ring a skull shaped mark will form branding evil doers, usually leading to others refusing to work with them unless they can conceal the mark.
Good mark- On his left hand the Phantom wears a ring with two crossed swords as a mark. This is gifted to those in need to mark them as one who is under the protection of the Ghost Who Walks.
What's hidden behind the mask:
Personality:
In his civilian guise Kit Walker seems like any other rich thrillseeker, always travelling and throwing around money. Though thanks to studying his family history he can charm others at any location from a small farming village to a high society party. When needed though he is willing to share his knowledge of travel, language, history and other subjects from the various tomes in the Skull Cave. Most notable is his constant travel companion Devil a mountain wolf, Kit tends to dismiss complaints that he can't bring his dog somewhere with 'It's okay, he's not a dog'. While friendly he has lived a somewhat isolated life and does have some quirks that stand out in polite society.
Given his lifelong training to take up his mantle Kit has a low tolerance for injustice or abuse in any form. He will go out of his way to right wrongs with no regard to his own safety. As befits his oath this can range from leaping between a victim and attacker to preventing someone abusing the help.
As the Phantom Kit combines his reputation with a swashbuckler attitude, frustrating his opponents by mocking their attempts to defeat what seems to be an opponent who cannot be killed. His winning smile rarely falters as he disarms and disables henchmen by the dozens while arch villains are slowly whittled down until they lie broken.
Ideally he prefers not to kill, feeling that while he acts outside the law it is not his place to act for justice rather than revenge. However innocent life takes precedence so he understands that sometimes lethal force is necessary in which case he will try to atone later in an appropriate manner.
History:
In 1516 a ship was attacked by pirates of the Singh Brotherhood, leading to an almost total murder of all crew and passengers. A single survivor Walker was thrown overboard and washed up on the shores of Bangalla. Eventually he found shelter in a skull shaped cave with fresh spring water for his survival. On recovering his strength he allied with local tribes for the resources to track the pirates to a town further down the coast and take revenge on them, striking fast then vanishing like a ghost and marking his conquests with skulls drawn in the ashes of their burned ships. He finalised his attack by declaring that this was the first step in "The destruction of piracy, greed, cruelty, and injustice, in all their forms!"
The Singh Brotherhood lived on, necessitating Walker continue his battle against them while protecting Bangalla against reprisal. The Bandar tribe became his first allies, providing him with their knowledge of the jungles that he could use in his quest. The treasure confiscated from the pirates was used to hire soldiers who would become the Jungle Patrol, a law enforcement group that would police the area and protect the lands and wildlife while diverting information to the Phantom.
Over the years Walkers descendants took up the mantle, eventually adding to the image with a purple suit, black domino mask and a gun belt. The legend spread of the Ghost who Walks and that he couldn't die while evil existed. Eventually Kit Walker took his place as the 21st Phantom, drawing on the skills passed down by his predecessors along with his alliances with the Bandar tribe and the Jungle Patrol. Joining him in his quest was his loyal companions Devil and Hero, a wolf and horse that were considered every bit as ghostly as the Phantom.
During the Second World War Axis forces came to Africa to gather information on new resources that could win the war for them such as Vibranium, rare relics or even slave labour. The Phantom along with other allies fought them off spreading his reputation further. Meanwhile the Singh reformed not only as seafaring pirates but as a world spanning criminal network equipped for sea, land and even air by adding modern methods of transportation and weaponry to their arsenal. Now in 1947 Kit Walker intends to travel the globe to root out villains wherever they hide. Unmasked he is merely globe trotting a rich boy, but when the innocents are threatened he is always ready to suit up and strike with four hundred years of justice behind him.
Other: If Black Panther is chosen by another player it could be interesting to make Wakanda and Bangalla allies.
