Oh dear this was for it now....surely the noise and the...surprising strength of this woman crashing through his mirrors and his walls and his wooded glen would summon the Queen's guards...the police...the Queen's guards.... The Hatter roared in frustration and threw his hat onto the table, stomping on it vigorously. The straw was sturdy and popped right back into its form. He took it carefully and set it back onto his head. "I keep them to sell..." he growled, "I have none of my own..." One blast from his pistol into the Hare's head, between his beady eyes, sent the broom splintering as the madman found his watch at last and grasped it, running down and off the table after his quarry. "I'm a Hatter...! ALICE!"
He fired off rounds as best he could, missing more than hitting his prey. It began to feel more like what he'd heard about driving cattle. Coercing it into a place they were meant to be...that was it. He had to get her back 'round to the table. He ran at her with his stubby legs, holding his watch and pistol aloft, shouting obscenities at her, and indeed nearly losing her through the half trees and half walls now and again. "And thick and fast they came at last, and more and more and more!" he cried, "All hopping through the frothy waves and scrambling to the shore!" The Hatter managed to fire off two more rounds before his pistol was out of bullets. He growled and cast it aside, now merely holding up the tick tocking watch in front of his face, hoping the sound would catch her ears as he got only somewhat closer each time. "COME BACK HERE NOW, JESSICA! LISTEN TO THE TICKING!"

Jessica, now hopelessly lost and growing more afraid, finally found herself at a wall she couldn't barge her way through. Was her escape on the other side? She punched the wall. Not even a dent. She punched harder. Nothing. She punched with all her might, and still it didn't give. She pressed her back against it, looking around at the laughing creatures, trying to tune out Cade's cackling laugh echoing in her ears. She was truly trapped like a rat. How long was she stuck in Wonderland? She had no way of knowing.
Then she heard that voice again. "COME BACK HERE NOW, JESSICA!" It wasn't the Hatter's voice, but rather one she heard in her sleep. One that made her blood run colder than she'd ever felt in her life. She tried to run, but she was too scared to move. Kilgrave rounded the corner, scowling at her. his form flickered to that of Artie and his rictus grin, then back. As he got closer, he flickered again, and Artie was laughing at her, then he was once again Kilgrave. Then, Artie. No .... Kilgrave. He got closer, and she sank to the floor, cowering from the only man she feared so much. Kilgrave was upon her, and that ticking sound was once again clear. He had that same look on his face. That same look from the night he.... He was here. He was alive. The Purple Man would have her under his control again.
No. Not this time.
All at once, she was sent into a frenzy. She lunged at him, sending the watch flying, and grabbed him. She barreled with him through three concrete walls before slamming him into a fourth and punching him in the ribs. "You think I'm going to let you play with my mind again?" she hissed, tossing him to the side like a ragdoll. She stood, teeth bared in unbridled fury, fists clenched as Wonderland reacted to her will. She was no longer dressed like Alice, for she no longer was Alice. "You think I'm going to play your games?" She walked over to who she only saw as Kilgrave, and kicked him hard enough to send him flying up into the ceiling. When he came back down, she delivered a punch that sent him into another wall. "No more. I'm not letting you control me anymore. I'm done being afraid."

The Hatter had not been prepared for Alice....no Jessica, surely....Alice? to spring upon him so fiercely. It was certainly unladylike and most definitely not in the script! And yet she did it, flinging him about like an empty potato sack. His hat flew off of his head at the first continual series of blows, being launched with the crazed woman through the series of walls. He coughed in a gasping breath when she broke three of his ribs, looking up at her in horror as she spoke. When she continued, his eyes darted to and fro, to and fro, tick and tock, tick and tock where was his watch...? Out of sight, out of mind...out of mind....mind....out of his....mind.... He took the blow, hurled up to the ceiling and then back down yet again, tumbling down this rabbit hole of pain before he was bapped again into a further wall.
As the Hatter's crumpled form slid down to a sitting position he suddenly cried out. "B-BEWARE THE...JABBERWOCK...MY SON...!" he half shrieked in fear. For it wasn't Alice before him now, not to his eyes, and certainly not this Jessica Jones girl....her form was now a monstrous, dragon like creature with snapping teeth and long clutches. "Th-the jaws that b-bite, the claws that catch....!" he stammered as he crawled feebly toward what he observed was his discarded pistol, but it was far away in one of the previous rooms. Still he crawled as best he could manage. Slowly but surely. "One, two, one, two..." he wheezed, "And through and through the vorpal blade went sn-snicker snack...!" He managed to grip the pistol, entirely forgetting that he had spent his rounds and turned to the creature before him. "KEEP AWAY!" he shouted, the pistol clicking softly. His eyes widened in terror at the beast before him and he began to quake in utter terror. "....time is a him..." he whispered.

Jessica was entirely deaf to what this little man in front of her was saying. She was in such a frenzy, all she could hear was her own heartbeat. He wasn't the Hatter. He was Kilgrave. He was the one trying to control her. She wouldn't allow it. She couldn't allow it. Not again. Not after all this time.
Kilgrave crawled away from her, but she wasn't going to let him get away that easily. Not after everything he'd done to her. She stalked after him, Wonderland making way for her as she did. Trees hopped out of her way, flickering out of her vision as the hallucinogens started to wear off. But Kilgrave was still vivid. This wasn't the Hatter. It had to be Kilgrave. He turned, and tried to shoot her, but the gun was empty. She snarled, and kicked the gun out of his hand, shattering every bone in his hand as the gun flew away into the darkness.
She pressed her knee to his chest to pin him to the ground and slammed her other knee down to his hip, cracking his pelvis. She slammed his good arm down hard enough to break his wrist and his forearm. She swung her fist to connect with his jaw, not giving him time to speak or complain. The more he spoke, the more dangerous it was. She brought her fist down onto his face over, and over, and over again. She wasn't much for torture, but she made an exception for the Purple Man.

There was hardly much else to do here than cry out for mercy....as Jervis did. For he really was no longer the Mad Hatter, not without his hat and certainly not without his watch. He was Jervis Tetch, pleading for mercy, really not fully comprehending or even understanding what was happening, who this creature/woman (for they would alternate as the hallucinogenic effects wore down) was and what she wanted to break every bone in his body for. His syllables became half formed as he took more beatings. His eyes bugged out of his head from the shock of it, from the pain of his bones splintering into so many tiny fragments in his skin suit. He managed to lift his head toward the woman with the dark hair....Jessica was her name? "Please...!" he stammered before it was cut off.
Jervis Tetch had been many things in his life, across the pond back home and even here in Gotham. But it never seemed to fit. He was a puzzle piece that didn't belong in the set. A mismatched carved knight on a lavish chessboard he didn't mix with. But now, he was less than that. He was nothing. His body slumped lifeless back down to the floor, brain matter leaking out from the gunshot through his head. The shimmer of the bullet, not having quite made an exit through his frontal lobe, shone in the flickering light of the moon through the nearby window and the cracked support beam.

Blowing smoke from the muzzle of his pistol, the Joker slithered closer to the curious woman who had been beating on poor ol' Hattie. He made a mocking retching sound as he drew closer, as if that sort of thing disgusted him. At least he'd been able to ice her pain cake with some gunfire. Gunfire is fun fire after all, wasn't that the phrase? No? Maybe it should be. The news networks might buy it if they started telling the truth.
It hadn't been a particularly easy stay at Arkham last he cooled his heels there. Still, as with every time he was ever confined within its walls, it was simple enough to escape. And now, to come home to find that Jervis McHatter had taken one of HIS spots...well that was just annoying. And hell, the man was in pieces anyway by the looks of it. You'd think these other pretenders wouldn't waste their time taking his turf when he left clear signs he was out scattered around the park downtown. "Sorry about that, Jervis old boy..." the Joker feigned apology as he approached and removed his wide hat, "But, well...I don't like to share my stuff." He emitted a low chuckle as he turned his yellow eyes to the woman. She was fetching. A bit panicky, but he liked 'em that way. Plus she wasn't making too much noise, and he liked 'em that way too. Idly he wondered if she'd like to hear a joke. "HEY so...!" he said as if he were meeting a long time friend for a drink, "How many stillborn babies does it take to screw in a lightbulb?" He giggled as if it were the greatest joke in the world. "Go on, guess!" he purred as he rested the pistol on her shoulder and pulled back the hammer. "....or at least TELL me if ya know, I haven't thought of a good enough answer! Thinkin seventeen but I haven't tested it yet." he cackled as he slapped the woman's back uproariously, collapsing onto the floor before eerie calm immediately replaced his mirth. "...good times, good times...." he aimed the pistol at her, "Now get out. I'll count forwards from three.......three.....four.....five..."

The gunshot brought Jessica to her senses. She blinked, and the form of Kilgrave faded to reveal that of the Hatter. The poor, dead Hatter. She started trembling, realizing that she wasn't torturing Kilgrave at all, but a man that looked like he couldn't defend himself if he tried. Her eyes slowly lifted to see .... oh no. The clown she thought she was after to begin with.
She stayed where she was, frozen with fear. This couldn't be happening. She couldn't be face to face with the Joker. This wasn't happening to her. He told a joke, and she felt her skin crawl, finally dropping the Hatter's body and backing away from him. He clapped her on the back and she instinctively shoved him off, backing slowly away from him.
When he aimed his pistol at her, she froze again. She had to tell her legs to move, and even then it took a lot of effort to get them to run. She ran, and ran fast, leaping into the air and running along the rooftops to get to the edge of town. There, she had a car waiting for her. She was done with Gotham. She had nothing keeping her here. If the Hatter was sent by Kilgrave to scare her, he had done his job, and she was scared. She was out of here. She could only imagine what Kilgrave would do to her once he found her again.
She found her car and tossed off the tarp covering it, quickly getting into the driver's side. She revved the engine, but stopped when she heard a ticking noise. Slowly, she leaned out of her car and looked underneath it. There was a bomb, triggered when she opened the door. It was counting down.
Her heart dropped into her stomach. Whatever she had done wrong, Kilgrave had already found her.
